The induction programme serves as an important platform within the Singapore Silent Heroes Movement. Beyond recognition, it reinforces CAS’ broader vision of nurturing individuals who are committed to uplifting communities through compassion, responsibility and sustained volunteerism.

By bringing together past and present Silent Heroes, the event strengthened a network of individuals who share a common commitment to doing good quietly but meaningfully.

The programme began with registration, where new alumni members received their SSH T-shirts, symbolising their entry into a growing community of changemakers. Welcome remarks were delivered by SSH Alumni Committee Chairman Mr Owen Tan and Vice Chairman Mr Toh You Xin, who reflected on the importance of continuing the Silent Heroes journey beyond the awards ceremony.

This was followed by an address from SSH Alumni Advisor Mr Suresh M and CAS President and Chairman of the Singapore Silent Heroes Movement, Mr MP Sellvem. Their speeches highlighted the values and pillars that guide CAS initiatives, encouraging alumni to actively contribute their time, experience and passion toward future community projects.

A key highlight of the programme was the breakout sessions, where participants explored CAS’ pillars in smaller groups and shared ideas on how they could collaborate on meaningful initiatives. The open discussions allowed both new and experienced alumni to exchange insights and envision future programmes that can benefit various communities.

The evening also recognised the dedication of the SSH Alumni Committee members who continue to guide the movement. The session concluded with a group photo, followed by a casual bonding dinner that strengthened relationships among participants.

The programme left many feeling inspired and eager to contribute further.

As one sentiment shared during the session captured perfectly, “A Silent Hero does not stop serving after the award. The journey continues through the lives we touch together.”
