Nominations are now open for Singapore’s “Silent Heroes” awards, and the organizers call on the public to nominate ordinary people who silently contribute to society without asking for anything in return.

Chen Jiajuan is one of the winners of the 2022 “Silent Hero Award”. He has always cared about the lonely elderly, organized activities to bring joy to them, and helped coordinate the distribution of healthy meals. He also participated in the charity organization’s “Cycling Regardless of Age” (Cycling Without Age) event provides free tricycle riding services to seniors.

He is currently the President of the Silent Heroes Alumni Association of Singapore, bringing together past winners and finalists to do more good deeds.

The “Silent Heroes” award was established in 2014 and is presented by the civil society organization “Civilians Association of Singapore” (Civilians Association of Singapore). The purpose is to recognize ordinary people who have done good deeds and made contributions to society. This year entered the 11th edition, Saturday (March) Nominations open on the 16th.

We hope to inspire our people to create a more compassionate and inclusive society.

The award is sponsored by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and has awarded 52 awards so far. It hopes to inspire more Singaporeans to display their positive spirit and promote Singapore to become a more kind and inclusive society.

At the launch ceremony held on Saturday, more than 100 residents came to participate in on-site games and entertainment activities, and the organizers also sent gift bags containing daily necessities to 50 disadvantaged families.

The public can submit nomination forms online at www.sgsilentheroes.com from now until June 15 . The awards are awarded in five categories, namely “Compassionate Heart”, “Outstanding Adult”, “Promising Pioneer”, “Inspirational Youth” and “Compassionate Foreign Person”. The awards ceremony will be held on September 7 at the Shangri-La Hotel.
