About

In 2023, Singapore Silent Heroes took a momentous leap by shining a spotlight on the next generation through the Student Award. 2023’s theme underscores the enduring legacy of compassion, as nineteen young minds from nine different schools showcased that kindness knows no age limits.

From aiding the elderly to supporting local gardeners and advocating for vulnerable animals, these students epitomized the spirit of selflessness. The SSH Student Award seeks not only to applaud their efforts but to empower and inspire, conveying a powerful message that even the smallest acts of kindness can create transformative ripples.

FAQs

Can I nominate a teacher or teaching staff in the school?

The Silent Heroes Student Award is open only to students. If you have a teacher, or teaching staff in the school who is worthy of recognition, you may wish to consider nominating them for the national-level Silent Heroes award.

My prospective nominee previously received an award from a third party organization for her contributions. Can I still nominate her?

As it is our hope that people who have not been recognized before are those celebrated with these awards, such individuals would not generally be considered for the awards.

Is it a requirement for me to discuss a prospective nomination with the potential nominee?

No, it is not. However, please note that the award would only be given to them (if selected) if they consent to being awarded.

While you are free to try and persuade the student in question to agree to be nominated, if he/she insists that they would rather not be nominated, we would ask you respect their wishes.
