Sojib’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of Bangladeshi migrant workers in Singapore is
a powerful testament to the power of compassion and community. In a world reshaped by
the Covid-19 pandemic, he emerged as a beacon of hope for the Bangladeshi migrant
workers in Singapore. His journey, marked by tireless volunteerism and humanitarian
efforts, has garnered admiration from all corners of society.

When the pandemic struck, the migrant population in Singapore faced unprecedented challenges. Communication and support became critical, and it was individuals like Mr. Sojib who stepped up to bridge the gap. Through his popular Facebook page, he provided essential information, mental health support, and a sense of community to those in need. His use of social media and digital technology became a lifeline for many, offering guidance and solace during the darkest days.

In 2024, Mr. Sojib played a pivotal role in the Gaza Relief Project, coordinating efforts that saw over 700 volunteers, both natives and migrants, raise over $81,500 for those affected by war and poverty. His selfless service continues to inspire and uplift, restoring faith in humanity one act of kindness at a time.

Even today, Mr. Sojib continues to receive nearly a hundred calls and messages daily from migrant workers seeking his help. His dedication has not waned; instead, it has only grown stronger. He collaborates with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and various organizations, proving to be an invaluable asset to both the migrant community and Singapore as a whole.

Mr. Abdul Karim (Sojib) was nominated for the “Compassionate Foreigner” Category in the SSH 11th Year Awards 2024. He was the selected winner and received award from Guest of Honour : Mr. Ong Ye Kung – Minister for Healthat Shangri-La Hotel on 7th September 2024.
