Five people were awarded the Singapore Silent Hero Award this year. They were selected from 24 finalists.

This award was established in 2014 by the Singapore Citizens Association, a non-governmental organization, with the aim of recognizing ordinary people who do good and make contributions to society.

There are five categories of awards: Kind Heart, Outstanding Adult, Promising Pioneer, Inspiring Youth and Compassionate Expatriate.

This year’s winners are Tan Kok Liang Takalah, 55, Raymond Khoo Swee Boon, 61, Jenny Wong Hien Far, 65, Lim Shiyun, 30, and Abdul Karim, 32.

The award ceremony was held last Saturday (7th) and the guest of honor was Health Minister Ong Ye Kung.
