‘Unsung Heroes’ Award: Eligible candidates can be nominated – Tamil Murasu

Singapore’s Silent Heroes can nominate deserving candidates for the award. The awards will be presented for the eleventh time organized by the Citizens’ Association of Singapore (CAS).
These awards highlight ordinary people who quietly contribute to society without expecting annual recognition.
Nominations can be made on the website www.sgsilentheroes.com in five categories: ‘Humanitarian Spirit, Outstanding Elder, Promising Pioneer, Exemplary Youth and Dear Foreigner’.
In particular, ‘Humanitarian Nejman’ refers to those who have rendered exemplary service to society despite their physical disabilities or special needs.
Nominations should dateline will be by June 15 2024. Winners will receive their awards at a ceremony on September 7 at the Shangri-La Hotel. So far 52 awards have been given in ten years.
Alvin Tan, Deputy Minister of Culture, Community and Innovation and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, was the special guest at the award opening ceremony held on Saturday 16th March.
Former ‘Silent Heroes’ winners and finalists along with ‘CAS’ organized the inaugural function. It was supported by the Moulmein-Cairnhill Group.
Through this year’s awards, we want to recognize exemplary individuals who show love for others and contribute to building a compassionate society,
Minister Tan said.
The opening ceremony was held in conjunction with the ‘Family Fun Time’ celebration. More than 100 residents of Baek Gio participated in the fun activities. Fifty low-income families were also given groceries.
The organizing committee of ‘Silent Heroes’ also welcomes nominations of students who are doing community service.
