Compassionate Foreigner Winner – 2022

Already in her senior years, Mrs Carol Chong Kwai Lan, 70, used to help with administrative duties at her husband’s business. However, she had a yearning to spend her retirement years meaningfully and in 2017, she decided to volunteer with Sree Narayana Mission (SNM) (Singapore).
To date, Carol has completed about 100 sessions of morning therapy exercises, 50 sessions of arts and craft and 30 phone calls to seniors between 2017 to 2022. Her selfless actions have made a difference to around 30 seniors.

Mrs Carol Chong Kwai Lan was nominated for the “Compassionate Foreigner” Category for the SSH Awards 2022. She was the selected winner and received award from Guest of Honour: Mr. Edwin Tong – Minister for Culture, Community and Youth & Second Minister for Law, at Shangri-La Hotel on 27th August 2022.
