Known for romantic relationships and family ties, coupled with handsome Korean actors and pretty actresses, Korean dramas (K-Dramas) (Korean: 한국드라마; RR: hanguk drama) are still a hit especially on Netflix.
I too, had my fair share of K-dramas late at night when the toddler sleeps. At times, it is the eye candy of K-pop idols and romantic storylines that gets me hooked on every 60 minutes episode. Then I realised, the essence of these characters are similar, its all about bringing out the silent hero in one’s self.
Here are some K-dramas that have exemplified traits of silent heroes:

Crash Landing On You
A silent hero makes sacrifices, both big and small.
Crash Landing On You – A silent hero makes sacrifices, both big and small. One of the most popular K-drama (IMO) this year, Crash Landing On You (CLOY) scene showed Ri getting shot by a bullet and Yoon stays in North Korea to donate blood instead of returning home. The couple made several sacrifices including heroic acts that displayed their love for each other all.

Clean with passion for now
A silent hero accepts one for who they are.
Covid-19 has gotten our hygiene leveled up. I found it therapeutic watching lead actor Seon- gyeol being extremely particular about the standards of hygiene in his cleaning company. Although he iwas resolute about curing his mysophobia, O-Sol sees the positive side of his story. Having empathy and respect for his job in starting a cleaning company (in addition to being a ‘clean freak’ as one might term), O-Sol sees him for who he is.

Touch your heart
A silent hero listens and helps along the way
After a scandal, Actress Oh Yun-seo was offered a comeback role playing an attorney, on the condition that she first works at a law firm for three months. Through the comedic romance between Yun-Seo and lead actor Jung-rok (who is her Boss), Yun-Seo goes all out to fight for justice while trying to cover her actress identity.
