My heartiest congratulations to the Civilians Association (Singapore) (CAS), on the 10th Anniversary of the Singapore Silent Heroes (SSH) Awards. The SSH awards is a hallmark event of CAS, recognising individuals who have through their quiet actions made a difference to others.
The personal stories of these silent heroes illustrate the immense power of empathy and altruism in transforming lives. By identifying needs and bringing together like-minded individuals to address such needs, these individualshave quietly and in their own way, given effect to our vision of building a brighter future for Singaporeans – on where all can progress.

When we work together towards common good, we strengthen this solidarity, build social capital and foster greater trust among one another. Every individual’s contributio matters, as communities are built by and for individuals.
I hope this award will continue tomotivate many more people to follow in these recipients’ footsteps, and create a ripple effect which flows out to enrich the community. My heartfelt congratulations to all recipients and my gratitude to Civilians Association (Singapore) for providing us with a platform to celebrate these individuals and the impact they have made.
For everyone reading this publication, I hope that these stories ignite a spark in vou and encourage vou to find meaningful ways to help others and make a positive difference to theirlives. Every action, whether big or small, can if done in the right spirit and with the right purpose, contribute to building a better tomorrow.
